A Message From Jenny

When we first opened the doors of The Sports Bra and invited the community into our tiny space on NE Broadway, I never could have anticipated what the next few years would bring. Turns out, opening the world’s first bar dedicated to showing only women’s sports was kind of a big deal! 

Since then, we’ve hosted world-class athletes (some of my heroes!), been featured on national TV, and built a joyful community that celebrates and elevates women and girls in sports. 

Sometimes, The Bra is as full as my heart!

Except… when it isn’t.

There’s an unexpected paradox that comes with success. When there’s a big game on, our 40 seats are packed and sometimes there’s a line out the door. But plenty of other days—when the schedule is light, or it’s rainy, or it’s just a random Wednesday—we’ve got space. A lot of it.

If you’ve ever passed by and thought, “I’d never get a seat in there,” I get it. We often hear folks say how they’ve never been able to get in because it’s so crowded. Want to avoid crowds but still relish in women’s sports fandom? Now is the time! Come by on a quiet afternoon, a non-Thorns night, or after dinner some time. Join in one of our community events like Sunday Gametimes, or check out our new lunch specials. Grab a friend, a drink, a burger, and take in a match you might not have watched otherwise. You might even discover a new favorite sport! (Girls are badass at rugby!) 

We know the current economic climate is challenging, and we understand that every dollar counts for you, too. Like all independent businesses, we are navigating these difficult times, and consistent daily traffic is essential to keep our mission alive. Each dollar you spend at a local business is a vote in support of their survival. 

The team at The Bra works to bring women’s sports fandom to you because we believe in this movement—not just the moment. And just because there isn’t a huge live event on doesn’t mean that fandom is taking a day off! Every visit keeps this dream alive, every meal fuels the mission, and every cheer reminds us why we opened  in the first place: to change the game for women’s sports, one pint and one play at a time.
